Course Description

Practical Carry 1 is a course for beginners and experienced shooters alike. This course teaches the necessary skills of concealed carry and cultivates an attitude of responsibility. It is also an accredited State of Montana course that qualifies each individual for a Montana Enhanced Concealed Weapons Permit.

The classroom coursework includes firearms safety, equipment selection, and the aftermath of lethal force encounters. We cover types of firearms, holsters, and ammunition, as well as how to choose safe and effective equipment. Montana and federal firearms law will also be covered.

While on the live-fire range, fundamentals such as proper grip, sight alignment, and trigger manipulation are combined with holster work to impart the practical carry skills that every lawfully armed citizen should possess. We will work on presentation from the holster, rapid engagement of targets, reloading, and malfunction clearance.

We intentionally run small classes, usually capped at eight students. This is to ensure that each student receives personal attention and has a safe environment to learn and grow.
