Aqil Qadir is a Rangemaster Instructor as well as an owner of Citizens Safety Academy along with Tiffany Johnson. I recently met him at the Rangemaster Combative Pistol this summer.
Aqil worked in Buffalo, New York as a police officer and has dedicated his time after his leave to teaching good citizens to defend themselves. He us a personable man, with a quick smile and a pleasant demeanor. His presentation of Tom Givens material was excellent: his experiences were welcome examples of the lessons in the material.
On the range, Aqil is organized and encouraging. The training material is good, robust information, and Aquil was thorough in his demonstration and explanation of each technique. He is punctual and kept us on track for time each day.
Aqils company, Citizens Safety Academy, is focused on training forst time shooters and instructors for gateway students. They are very approachable and happy to help.
The Rangemaster qualification course is a standard course of fire that requires you to be perfect in your fundamentals. While the accuracy and time standards are not difficult, you cannot have an error, lest your score slip. The CSA qualification is the same, but held to a tighter accuracy standard. Our very own Rnady England was able to earn a coin with a perfect score on the qual winning the #8 coin.
